NDLEA, INEC Partner to Combat Drug Abuse and Ensure Peaceful Elections in Kano

The Kano State Strategic Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have pledged to work together to curb drug abuse and promote a peaceful electoral process in the state.

The commitment followed a courtesy visit by NDLEA officials to INEC’s Kano office, aimed at strengthening the collaborative relationship between the two institutions.

According to a statement issued Friday by Sadiq Mohammed Maigatari, Public Relations Officer of NDLEA Kano Command, the meeting focused on identifying areas of cooperation to enhance the agencies’ statutory responsibilities.

“Discussions emphasized institutional collaboration, information sharing, and coordinated efforts to support credible and peaceful elections,” the statement noted.

NDLEA Kano Command head, DY Lawal, reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to assisting INEC in fulfilling its mandate. In response, INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kano, Audu A. Zango, expressed the Commission’s readiness to maintain strong collaboration to support national stability and democratic development.
