In a bold demonstration of faith, unity and political mobilization, Caretaker women leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from across Enugu State on Monday converged at the party’s State Secretariat along No. 1 C Presidential Road, Enugu, for a strategic prayer meeting aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The gathering brought together ADC women leaders from the state, senatorial zones, local government areas and wards, alongside key party officials and stakeholders, in what participants described as a successful blend of spiritual commitment and political planning.
The highlight of the event was the presence of the ADC’s 2027 Enugu State governorship candidate, Chief Ocho Obodoeze, who participated throughout the programme and reaffirmed his commitment to empowering the party’s women wing.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Obodoeze urged the women leaders to immediately commence grassroots mobilization by organizing polling unit agents and election-day workers across the state. He stressed that electoral victory is built from the grassroots, encouraging members to begin preparations well ahead of the 2027 polls.
Also addressing the meeting, the ADC Caretaker State Chairman, Gen. Chris Eze (Rtd), expressed optimism about the party’s growing acceptance across Enugu State and Nigeria. He assured members that the party remains united and focused, emphasizing that the recent court judgment had no adverse effect on the African Democratic Congress and urging supporters to disregard misinformation while concentrating on the party’s electoral objectives.
The Caretaker State Secretary, Comrade A.C. Ude, welcomed participants and commended the women leaders for their dedication, organization and unwavering commitment to strengthening the party’s structure across the state.
The Caretaker Organising Secretary, Lolo Queen Nwankwo, praised the women for their impressive mobilization efforts and encouraged them to intensify their engagement ahead of future party activities.
Speaking on behalf of the campaign organization, the Director-General of the Ochoudo 2027 Campaign, Hon. Water Orji, assured the women of the campaign’s full support, expressing confidence that collective commitment would translate into electoral victory in 2027.
The event also attracted the ADC Enugu West Senatorial Candidate, Prophetess Juliet Ani, who challenged the women to expand the party’s membership by recruiting more women into the ADC. She further demonstrated her support by making a generous financial contribution towards the success of the programme.
Additional goodwill and support came from Easy Electrical, the State Party Administrator, Hon. Okechukwu Okeagu, and other party supporters, who commended the women for their dedication and encouraged sustained grassroots mobilization.
During the prayer session, participants committed the future of the African Democratic Congress in Enugu State to God, praying for victory in all elective positions, from the Governorship to the State House of Assembly, in the 2027 elections. They also pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization across polling units statewide.
The programme concluded with a thanksgiving session and a group photograph, reinforcing the party’s message of unity, preparedness and optimism.
The meeting ended with participants reaffirming the party’s campaign slogan:
“ADC 2027: From Polling Unit to Government House, Victory is Certain.”
