SALZBURG LOAN TIJANI TO HARTBERG

Red Bull Salzburg has loaned former Nigeria U-17 captain, Samson Tijani, to fellow Austrian Bundesliga side Hartberg for the 2020/21 season.

Tijani, who joined the Austrian league champions in July on a five-year deal after his 18th birthday, is expected to continue his development at his new club.

Hartberg confirmed the move in a statement on their website.

“Samson Tijani is on loan from FC Red Bull Salzburg to Hartberg for a year. The defensive midfielder was signed by Salzburg and signed a contract until summer 2025,” the club stated.

Tijani says he hopes to help the team improve in the coming season.

“I’m very happy to be here. I believe in the team and I hope that I can help the team to become even better,” he told the club’s website.

Hartberg Managing Director, Erich Korherr, said the team were happy to have a player as talented as Tijani in their team.

“We are delighted to be able to welcome an extraordinary talent like Samson Tijani to Hartberg. We look forward to this player. Thanks also to Christoph Freund from FC Red Bull Salzburg for the loan option.”
