Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the 10th National Assembly, has rejected fresh allegations linked to the controversial Paris Club refund, describing a recent online report as false, misleading, and driven by malice.
In a statement released by his media team in Abuja, the lawmaker insisted that the Paris Club consultancy matter had already been thoroughly investigated and resolved by appropriate authorities.
He stated that several investigations carried out by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), including a recent review under the current administration, found no evidence of wrongdoing on his part.
According to the statement, at least four separate probes examined the consultancy agreement tied to the refunds, all concluding that the contract was properly executed and that any outstanding payments remain valid under the agreed terms.
Nwoko argued that the recurring allegations are a misrepresentation of facts already established, accusing certain individuals and platforms of deliberately attempting to tarnish his reputation.
Providing further clarification, he noted that official records held by the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Nigeria support the legitimacy of the transactions, as all federal payments проходят through documented and audited processes.
The senator also dismissed claims of any improper link with the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, describing such allegations as baseless.
He further alleged that individuals such as George Uboh and Omoyele Sowore are behind what he described as a sustained campaign of misinformation for personal or political motives.
The statement added that legal action has already been initiated against what it termed defamatory publications.
Reaffirming his stance, Nwoko categorically denied ever receiving $350 million, either personally or through any associated company, stressing that no such payment was made at any time.
He urged the public to ignore unverified claims and instead rely on official records and institutional findings, maintaining that due process was followed throughout the transactions.
The senator reiterated his commitment to transparency, accountability, and the rule of law, expressing confidence that the truth would ultimately prevail.
The Paris Club refund issue has long remained a subject of national debate, involving payments to consultants engaged by state governments to recover over-deductions and excess charges from the federal government and international creditors.
