Celebration of Life: Lolo Felicia Chukwulu Udeh Laid to Rest at 89 in Enugu

Family, friends, and well-wishers gathered in Ihe, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, to pay their final respects to Lolo Felicia Chukwulu Udeh, who passed on at the age of 89.

The funeral rites commenced with a solemn vigil mass, where tributes were paid describing the late matriarch as a peaceful, kind-hearted, and deeply family-oriented woman whose life was marked by service, humility, and devotion to God.

Tributes at the vigil mass celebrated her wisdom, discipline, and strong moral values, while also acknowledging the lasting impact she made on her family and the wider community.

The following day, the burial proceedings continued with a lying-in-state at her residence in Umusike Village, where sympathizers paid their last respects as they filed past her remains.

A requiem mass was later held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ihe, where the clergy encouraged the congregation to emulate her exemplary life of faith, compassion, and integrity.

Following the church service, her remains were interred at the family compound in Ihe, marking her final journey home.

In separate interviews, members of the family described her as a pillar of strength and unity.

High Chief Chukwuemeka Udeh described her as the backbone of the family, whose wisdom and guidance held the entire family together.

Her son, Prince Emeka Joe Udeh, said she was a loving and disciplined mother who instilled strong moral values and the fear of God in her children.

Her daughter, Mrs Chioma Onyia, described her as selfless and family-oriented, always placing the needs of others above her own.

Her grandchildren, Chikeluba and Tobenna Ubah, remembered her as a loving grandmother whose prayers and guidance shaped their lives, adding that she will be greatly missed.

Condolence presentations were made during the reception by attendees, including dignitaries, military officers, government representatives, and other well-wishers, who conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved family.

The reception was held at Ihe Main Field, where prominent government officials, high-ranking military officers, business leaders, friends, and well-wishers were in attendance, joining the family in paying their final respects and celebrating the life and legacy of the deceased.

Lolo Felicia Chukwulu Udeh is survived by her children, grandchildren, and a community that will continue to cherish her memory.
