PwC Nigeria and Lagos Business School have formed a strategic partnership to enhance environmental, social, and governance (ESG) compliance and risk management across organisations in Nigeria.
The collaboration, sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will focus on delivering training programmes centred on sustainability and climate awareness for professionals, executives, and board members. This comes as organisations face mounting pressure from regulators, investors, and stakeholders to improve transparency and effectively manage climate-related risks.
By combining PwC’s advisory expertise with the executive education structure of Lagos Business School, the initiative aims to embed sustainability into corporate strategy, governance, and operational systems. The programmes are set to begin in 2026 and will be open to participants from various industries.
Speaking on the development, a representative of PwC Nigeria noted that the partnership will help organisations integrate sustainability into key areas such as strategy, capital allocation, and risk management, ultimately supporting long-term growth and resilience.
Another ESG expert from PwC emphasized that companies that prioritise sustainability across all levels of leadership are better equipped to manage risks, meet regulatory demands, and gain a competitive edge.
On its part, Lagos Business School highlighted its commitment to nurturing responsible leaders who can drive sustainable development. The institution noted that the partnership will strengthen its efforts by combining academic knowledge with practical industry experience, enabling organisations to align sustainability practices with national development goals.
Both organisations stated that the initiative will prioritise practical knowledge in climate risk, sustainability strategy, and regulatory requirements, with the goal of embedding these principles into governance structures and everyday business operations.
