MultiChoice Talent Factory Extends 2026 Application Deadline to April 27

The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF), a leading Pan-African film and television training institution, has extended the deadline for its 2026 intake to April 27, giving aspiring creatives across Africa more time to apply for its fully funded programme.

Launched by the MultiChoice Group, now a CANAL+ company, the initiative is designed to identify and develop emerging storytellers by offering mentorship, hands-on training, and practical experience in film and television production.

The programme is open to individuals aged 18 to 35 who are passionate about the screen industry. Applicants may have academic backgrounds in film, media, drama, or related fields, or possess one to two years of relevant experience. However, a formal degree in film is not mandatory.

Selected participants will undergo a comprehensive 12-month training covering areas such as scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, sound, and production management. The fully funded scheme includes tuition, production expenses, and monthly stipends, allowing participants to focus on honing their skills.

MTF currently operates academies in Johannesburg, Nairobi, Lagos, and Lusaka, creating opportunities for diverse talents across the continent.

Since its inception in 2018, the programme has trained nearly 300 filmmakers who have collectively produced over 40 films. These works have been aired on platforms such as DStv and GOtv channels, including Africa Magic.

Graduates of the programme have gone on to receive nominations and awards at major events like the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, as well as other international platforms, further strengthening Africa’s presence in the global film industry.

Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the official MTF website for detailed information and application requirements before the new deadline.
