Lionel Messi made his Paris Saint-Germain debut as a second half substitute on in their victory at Stade de Reims on Sunday night.

It was a historic moment to see the Argentine in a different shirt to Barcelona, as Mauricio Pochettino brought him on after 65 minutes.

He put in a bright display, winning the ball back for his side, weaving past opposition players and his delightful pass almost led to a third goal for Kylian Mbappe.

However, the world was denied the chance to see the Messi-Mbappe-Neymar trident at the Stade Auguste Delaune, as Messi replaced Neymar, and we will have to wait to see if the trio end up playing together, given that Mbappe is close to a move to Real Madrid.

The Reims players kept an extremely close eye on Messi and looked to stop him however they could, as they welcomed him to Ligue 1.
