A former Peoples Democratic Party member of the House of Representatives in Gombe State, Alhaji Umar Suleiman, has led several of his supporters to the All Progressives Congress.

Receiving the defectors in Bajoga, Funakaye Local Government Area, and Nafada Local Government Headquarters on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, the Deputy Governor, Dr Manassah Jatau, assured the new entrants that the APC would be fair to them all.

Jatau said, “For those of you who are coming into the party today, and even those who were already in the party, we assure you of equal privileges and rights. We want all the party members to be committed to ensuring that the party wins in the forthcoming general elections.

“This administration acknowledges the existing two religions, Christianity and Islam, the three Senatorial Districts of Gombe South, Central, and North as well as the 11 local governments. We will continue to give each the needed conducive environment, rights and privileges towards the development of the state.”
