The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, alongside the people of Awgu Council Area, has extended warm congratulations to elder statesman and former governor of old Anambra State, Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo, following his prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award conferred by Vanguard Media Limited.
In a statement issued on Friday through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, the council boss described the honour as richly deserved, applauding Nwobodo’s decades-long commitment to national development and exemplary public service.
Okolo commended the former governor’s distinguished record in governance, highlighting his impactful roles as governor, minister, and senator of the Federal Republic. He further acknowledged Nwobodo’s enduring influence as a philanthropist and entrepreneur whose contributions have left indelible marks across sectors.
The chairman particularly underscored Nwobodo’s legacy in infrastructure development, industrial expansion, and institution-building during his tenure as governor of the old Anambra State—now comprising present-day Enugu State, Anambra State, and parts of Ebonyi State.
Describing him by his revered traditional title, “Anyanwu Na Awara Oha,” Okolo portrayed Nwobodo as a visionary leader whose life’s work continues to inspire generations and uplift communities.
