Carloha Nigeria, the authorised distributor of Chery vehicles in the country, brought innovation and excitement to the 2026 Okpekpe International Road Race through a combination of race support activities, vehicle exhibitions and interactive experiences for participants and spectators.
The company used the globally recognised sporting event, held on May 30 in Okpekpe, Edo State, to demonstrate its commitment to sports development, healthy living and community engagement while showcasing its latest mobility solutions.
A major highlight of Carloha’s participation was the deployment of the Chery HIMLA pickup truck as the official carrier of the race’s giant timing clock. The vehicle played a vital role in supporting race operations, ensuring visibility of the timing system throughout the competition while showcasing its durability, reliability and performance capabilities.
Beyond race logistics, Carloha displayed several of Chery’s flagship models, including the Tiggo 9, Tiggo 8 Pro, the electric iCAR and the HIMLA pickup truck. The exhibition provided visitors with the opportunity to experience the brand’s latest automotive technologies and mobility innovations.
The company also organised test-drive sessions that attracted hundreds of athletes, spectators and visitors, allowing participants to experience firsthand the vehicles’ advanced safety features, intelligent technologies, comfort and driving performance.
Carloha’s exhibition pavilion became one of the major attractions at the event, drawing sports enthusiasts, families, business executives, government officials and traditional rulers. Guests participated in interactive activities, explored vehicle features and gained insights into emerging mobility solutions.
Among the notable visitors to the pavilion was Adams Oshiomhole, who test-drove the iCAR electric vehicle, generating considerable interest and sparking conversations about the future of electric mobility in Nigeria.
Former Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, also visited the stand and commended Carloha for its support of sports development and its efforts to introduce innovative automotive experiences to Nigerians.
Speaking on the company’s participation, Carloha Nigeria General Manager, Felix Mahan, said the objective extended beyond showcasing vehicles to supporting an event that promotes excellence, healthy lifestyles and national pride.
He noted that the Okpekpe International Road Race has become a major platform for celebrating athletic achievement and encouraging wellness, adding that Carloha’s involvement was designed to enrich the overall experience while introducing visitors to innovative transportation solutions.
The company also promoted its CarlohaCare 6-6-7 ownership package, which provides customers with six years of free servicing, a six-year warranty and a seven-day repair promise aimed at delivering long-term value and enhanced customer satisfaction.
Carloha Nigeria said its participation in the 2026 Okpekpe International Road Race reflects its commitment to community engagement, sports development and healthier lifestyles, while highlighting the role of innovation and mobility in driving national development.
