The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has declared that the party will not collapse into any of Nigeria’s existing political parties in pursuit of electoral victory ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Abdullahi, a former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, made the statement in Ilorin during a gathering of ADC members and leaders in Kwara State held to celebrate the recently concluded Eid-el-Kabir festival.
While ruling out any merger with older political parties, he said the ADC remains open to alliances based on shared political ideology and principles.
According to him, the party has continued to attract more members across Kwara State and has produced credible candidates through its internal processes for positions in the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and governorship elections.
He stressed that the ADC’s doors remain open to politicians and supporters from other parties who are willing to join its ranks.
Abdullahi urged Nigerians to support the ADC in the 2027 elections, arguing that the party offers a viable alternative to address the country’s worsening insecurity and economic hardship.
He criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), blaming its economic policies for the difficulties faced by many Nigerians and expressing concern over rising cases of kidnapping, banditry, and killings across the country.
“Reported cases of kidnapping, banditry and killings have taken a serious toll on citizens across various states. This situation demands urgent action, and the ADC is prepared to provide the leadership needed to move Nigeria forward,” he said.
Calling on party members to intensify grassroots mobilization, Abdullahi expressed confidence that the ADC would emerge victorious in both Kwara State and at the national level in 2027.
He maintained that the party boasts qualified and experienced candidates with clean records, adding that effective leadership and good governance can only be achieved through the active support and participation of Nigerians.
