Youths in Echara community, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, have apprehended a native doctor alleged to specialise in collecting used male condoms for ritual purposes.

 

The suspect, identified as Anagbo Emeka from Umugbo in Ayamelum LGA, confessed that he had been sourcing used condoms from a woman he described as a prostitute, who supplied him from brothels.

 

A video of the incident, shared on Facebook by Dr. Uche Nworah, showed the native doctor admitting that the items were used in preparing charms.

 

“I had an arrangement with a woman (a prostitute) to sell me used condoms. We agreed on the deal and she delivered. However, I didn’t know she had other plans against me and leaked the secret. That’s the bad thing I have done,” he confessed.

 

He further admitted that the condoms were used for witchcraft and for charms requested by people involved in conflicts, land disputes, and even police cases.

 

The suspect was later handed over to the community leaders as residents called for security agencies to conduct a full investigation into the matter.
