The Enugu State Center for Small and Medium Enterprises, under the leadership of Hon. Arinze Chilo-Ofiah, The Special Adviser to the Governor on SME and Director General SME center Enugu on the 1st of December, hosted a program tagged Youthocracy series.
The Youthocracy series which was convened by Prince-will Ugwu, the Director General of Youth Orientation Network with the theme ‘In-depth Review of Government Programs, Feedback and improvements towards Maximum Societal Productivity – Youth Perspectives’.

The program which saw the attendance of several youths who were business owners in different scales was hosted to encourage the youths to empower themselves through Government engagement, strategic networking, Positive orientation through productive programs geared at Skillful Capacity building and Development such as Skills Acquisition Masterclass, Cryto skills. Web design, Cyber security, Make Up, Hair dressing and others.
Addressing the crowd present, Prince-will Ugwu reminded all present that the present administration was gradually rounding up and as such it was time to start asking how well they have represented them through their various reponsibilities.

Encouraging them to discourage mediocrity, lackadaisical and irresponsible leadership among young persons as they continue to advocate for more youths in Government, he said “Therefore, born from the urge for accountability, feedback, applause and reprimand, Youth Orientation Network(YON) gladly presents #YOUTHOCRACY_Series with the Theme;

“We encourage Ndi Enugu to embrace this initiative as the Voice of the Masses. We truly cannot have a society that works if we do not make constructive efforts towards enforcing Efficient Leadership.

“Leadership does not happen on social media. Therefore, come one, come all, let us sit to constructively analyse what these our brothers and sisters have done so far, make amends and also applaud the few who have made us proud. In the words of #Amit_Kalantri, “Resources are hired to give results, not reasons”, he said concluding.
In an exclusive interview with UGAMATV, Florence Ugwu, a Representative for Young African Leaders initiative for South-East described what the Enugu SME was doing as a welcomed Idea, saying “we can also chip in our own feedback from those participants who have engaged in the program, so that there will be an improvement in the Subsequent programs”.
Comrade Nwobodo ifeanyichukwu who expressed his joy over the new development said “its applaudable and I equally congratulate the people who championed the program which gives an avenue for the youth to Air Out and benefit more from the government by holding their Representative accountable”.

UGAMATV understands from their findings that Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration, through the Enugu SME Center has helped over 20,000 skilled youths, women and business start-ups with soft skills, zero interest Human Capital Development Loans & grants, access to jobs, rural community enlightenment, Agric interventions and tech skills.
On that premise, with 92% grade based on assessment, a “Vote of Confidence on SME Development and Investment Promotion” was passed on the administration of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
