Legal expert and public affairs analyst, Liborous Oshoma, has cautioned that the actions of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), could negatively impact the presidency.
Speaking on Arise News’ ‘The Morning Brief’ on Monday, Oshoma expressed concern over Wike’s conduct, describing it as politically charged and distracting from the core responsibilities of governance.
“If care is not taken, he might be the destructive factor of the president,” Oshoma warned, stressing that while many Nigerians may not oppose the president himself, they take issue with Wike’s approach and political style.
He noted that Wike’s behavior is drawing unnecessary political attention to the administration and criticized the growing tendency to prioritize politicking over governance, especially in the FCT.
“You can see we have elevated politics so high above governance that now anybody that wants to play politics, you don’t need to be meaningful — just hold the mic and people will listen,” he said.
