President Bola Tinubu has directed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to distribute rice across all states of the federation to support citizens observing the Ramadan and Lent seasons.
The directive was disclosed in a statement issued by the Governor of Imo State and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hope Uzodimma. He said the initiative is intended to promote compassion and strengthen unity among Nigerians during a period of spiritual reflection for both Muslims and Christians.
According to Uzodimma, the organisation will coordinate the distribution through its grassroots structures to ensure that households across the country benefit from the support. The exercise will be carried out through state, local government and ward-level networks to guarantee transparency and reach communities nationwide.
He noted that the initiative reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to national unity, compassion and peaceful coexistence among different religious groups.
“This effort highlights President Tinubu’s belief in charity and togetherness. Ramadan and Lent remind us of sacrifice, empathy and support for one another. Through this initiative, families across Nigeria will experience the spirit of solidarity during this sacred period,” Uzodimma said.
He added that the programme follows a similar intervention during the previous Christmas season, when rice was distributed across the country to support citizens celebrating the festive period.
Uzodimma explained that the continued initiative demonstrates the administration’s commitment to assisting Nigerians during significant religious and cultural observances.
