Grammy-winning Nigerian music star Burna Boy has made history as the first African musician to generate the highest revenue from a single concert performance.
According to data released by Touring Data on X, the singer’s “No Sign of Weakness” tour has become the highest-grossing tour by an African artist in the history of Oceania, earning about $3.1 million from more than 31,000 tickets sold across four shows.
The record was achieved during the Sydney stop of the No Sign of Weakness tour, where Burna Boy’s performance at the Qudos Bank Arena generated $1.117 million in revenue.
The No Sign of Weakness tour featured 20 shows across three continents, including North America, Europe and Oceania.
During the Oceania leg of the tour, four concerts held in Australia attracted about 30,946 fans and produced a combined revenue of approximately $3.1 million.
The achievement further highlights the growing global influence of African music, demonstrating that African artists can fill major arenas outside the continent. It also reinforces the international success of Burna Boy, known for hit songs such as On The Low.
