recorded yet another historic milestone with the successful conduct and official announcement of the Governorship Primary Election result for the 2027 gubernatorial election in Enugu State.
The epoch-making event, which was held amidst widespread enthusiasm, unity, and party solidarity, brought together an array of distinguished leaders and stakeholders of the party, including the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah, the Deputy Governor, the Deputy National Chairman (South), Hon. Dr. Ben Nwoye, Distinquished Sen. Osita Ngwu, Dist. Sen. Kevin Chukwu, APC Senatorial Candidate of Enugu North Zone Chief Ikeji Asogwa (IDE) Distinquished Sen. Ben Collins Ndu, former Senators, serving and former members of the House of Representatives, the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Barr.
Kingsley Udeh (SAN) the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu, the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon. Ezenta Ezeani, SSG Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the Chief of Staff Government House Prince Barr. Victor Udeh, the Chairman Enugu state traditional rulers Council, members of the State House of Assembly, commissioners, senior government officials, party leaders, major stakeholders, and thousands of loyal party faithfuls from across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
The exercise was ably supervised and witnessed by the state APC
Working Committee of the party, formidably led by the State Chairman, Dr. Sir. Martin Chukwunweike (Ozoigbondu),
whose leadership continues to strengthen and reposition the party for greater victories in the state.
In a transparent and orderly process, the Local Government Council Chairmen from the 17 LGAs who served as returning officers individually announced the results from their respective councils as follows:

Delivering his opening remarks, the Enugu State APC Chairman, Dr.
Sir. Martin Chukwunweike (Ozoigbondu), emphatically declared that Enugu State has a rich political tradition of returning performing governors for a second term, stressing that His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, must be returned overwhelmingly for another tenure. the State chairman Dr. Chukwunweike stated that Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah has proven beyond doubt that he is one of the finest leaders Enugu State has ever produced, and he unquestionably deserves a second term in office.*
In his remarks, the Deputy National Chairman (South), Hon. Dr. Ben Nwoye, described Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as the smartest Governor in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, commending his visionary leadership and transformational strides across Enugu State. He further praised party members for their steadfastness and called on the Chairman of the Governorship Primary Election Committee Hon.
Usman Aliyu (Damanleki hausa) to officially announce the cumulative result and declare the winner.

Usman Aliyu, while addressing the gathering, described Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as a smart governor who has transformed Enugu into a truly smart state.
He commended party faithfuls and the APC State working Committee for ensuring a peaceful, transparent, free, fair, and rancour-free primary election conducted under a conducive and enabling environment.
He further expressed profound appreciation to the National Leader of the party and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), as well as the APC National Working Committee led by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda for their exceptional leadership, unwavering support, and commitment to strengthening the party nationwide.
Proceeding to the official declaration, the Committee Chairman announced the
cumulative votes cast as 380,650, and consequently declared His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, as the duly elected winner of the APC Governorship Primary Election in Enugu State.
He thereafter presented the Governor with the party’s
Certificate of Return, symbolizing his emergence as the APC Governorship Candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Enugu State.
In his acceptance and appreciation speech, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah warmly welcomed the Primary Election Committee to the historic city of Enugu and expressed profound gratitude to party faithfuls for what he described as a unanimous and resounding affirmation of his candidature.
The Governor also paid glowing tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for his innovative and purposeful leadership, noting that his emergence as the APC national flag bearer in Enugu State represents a defining moment that will occupy a special place in the political history of Enugu State, a moment born out of sacrifice, courage, collective strength, and a shared determination to build a new future for Ndi Enugu.
He urged all party faithfuls across the state to remain steadfast, diligent, and politically alert, warning against complacency and any form of laxity.
According to him, The road ahead is not an easy one, but it is a path we are prepared to tread, a journey we understand, and a victory we are determined to secure.

emphasizing its commitment to sustainable growth, infrastructure renewal, economic empowerment, and the long-term prosperity of Ndi Enugu and generations yet unborn.
The event concluded on a highly celebratory note, with deafening cheers, chants, and resounding encomiums from party faithfuls and supporters, who expressed overwhelming love, confidence, and support for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as the APC marches confidently toward a historic electoral victory in Enugu State.
