Nigeria’s Super Falcons will no longer face Ghana’s Black Queens in their planned international friendly ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The friendly, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco, has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
The cancellation was confirmed in a statement posted on the Super Falcons’ official X account.
The match was expected to serve as a key warm-up fixture for both teams as they fine-tuned preparations for the 2026 WAFCON tournament.
The Super Falcons, led by head coach Justine Madugu, opened their training camp in Casablanca on Monday and will now continue preparations ahead of their title defence.
Nigeria will kick off their WAFCON campaign against Malawi’s Scorchers at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat.
