Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said he could withdraw his support for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, following criticism over a viral video showing him praying with Seyi Tinubu.

Responding to critics in a video shared on his Facebook page, Fayose said his support for Obi should not be taken for granted, stressing that he is free to back any candidate of his choice.

He also expressed admiration for President Bola Tinubu and his son, Seyi Tinubu, saying his recent meeting with the President’s son should not attract condemnation.

Fayose stated that he invested significant personal resources in Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign but claimed the former Anambra State governor had never acknowledged his efforts.

He said, “I can withdraw my support for Peter Obi. Do you know how much I spent on Peter Obi’s 2023 campaign? I met Seyi Tinubu and people started complaining. Has Peter Obi ever appreciated me? If I want, I can start campaigning for President Tinubu. I’m a Yoruba man, and I love President Tinubu and his son.”

His comments come just days after he dismissed speculation that meeting with Seyi Tinubu and other supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) meant he had abandoned his support for Peter Obi.
