Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to officially receive Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, into the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a planned visit to Gusau on Tuesday.

The State APC Chairman, Tukur Maikatako, disclosed this while addressing party stakeholders in Gusau, noting that the Vice President would lead members of the party’s national leadership to formally welcome the governor.

Maikatako described the development as a reflection of the APC’s commitment to unity and inclusiveness in Zamfara State.

Governor Lawal recently defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC.

According to a statement issued by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris, several APC governors, members of the National Assembly, and other key party figures from within and outside the state are expected to attend the event.

The statement added that the party has put in place strategies to mobilise supporters across the state to ensure a successful reception, while various committees have been established to guarantee a smooth and well-coordinated programme.
