The management of the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE), has assured the public that graduates of the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu, are fully qualified and licensed to practise without any restriction.
This clarification was made in a statement issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Kayode Taiwo, following concerns over delays in the mobilisation of graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
According to the statement, the reassurance became necessary due to growing anxiety among alumni regarding their eligibility for national service.
The university explained that the delay stems largely from the recent upgrade of the college to a full-fledged university, describing the transition as a significant milestone achieved through academic excellence and strong institutional leadership. It added that, as a relatively new university, some administrative processes linked to the transition are still being concluded.
FUAHSE acknowledged that the change temporarily affected procedures such as NYSC mobilisation but noted that the situation is being addressed, with concrete steps already taken to resolve outstanding issues.
Reaffirming the credibility of its graduates, the institution stated that all alumni have been duly registered and certified by relevant professional bodies, including the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria.
The management emphasised that these certifications grant full professional recognition, enabling graduates to work across the healthcare sector without limitation.
While highlighting the importance of NYSC participation, the university assured stakeholders that mobilisation issues would soon be resolved, urging affected graduates to remain calm and patient.
FUAHSE also reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards in allied health sciences education and strengthening its growing reputation as a centre of excellence.
