Presidency: Yahaya Bello predicts youth takeover

THE Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has declared that youths in Nigeria would take over the presidency in the 2023 general election.

He, however, advised the youth to be courageous because this was required for them to fulfil their destiny.

The governor who has declared interest in vying for the presidency in 2023, said this at a conference in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, with the theme, “Youths Own The Power” organised by the Afenifere For Collective Transformation.

He spoke through the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Mrs Folasade Ayoade, who led the state government delegation to the event.

According to him,  several older generations of leaders assumed offices at a young age, hence, youths should be given a chance to rule Nigeria in 2023.

Bello said “We all need to know that all our leaders came to power when they were young. They were all youths. So, why would they not give the youths the chance to take over?  Ideally, they should say since we came to power as youths, let’s allow the youths to have the power.

“But I need to let you know my fellow youths that we will take it. We will take it. They will not give you.

The Director-General of ACT, Tolu Ajayi in his remarks, described Bello as “ a detribalised Nigerian.”
