The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun East has adopted Dapo Abiodun as its consensus candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District.
The decision was reached on Monday during a caucus meeting held at Adeola Odutola Hall in Ijebu Ode. The gathering was attended by key stakeholders, including deputy governors, current and former local government chairmen, councillors, and lawmakers at both state and national levels.
The endorsement was formally announced by Lekan Mustapha and ratified by participants through a voice vote. The caucus also resolved to cover the nomination fee for Abiodun.
However, the meeting was not without controversy. Earlier in the day, Gbenga Daniel, who currently represents the district in the Senate, was reportedly denied entry into the venue.
Sources indicated that Daniel arrived with a large number of supporters in buses but was refused access by security personnel, who stated they could not verify the identities of those accompanying him.
