One of the gubernatorial aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, Mr Kunle Olatunji has dumped the party.
Olatunji made this declaration while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday evening.
Olatunji who hails from Ona Ara local government area in Ibadan, said he has joined Action Democratic Party, ADP, to realise his ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Olatunji said he has submitted his letter of resignation to the leadership of the APC, and insisted that he has fully aligned with ADP.
He described the move as both difficult and necessary, saying he joined the ADP to win the election.
Olatunji said with the support of other members of ADP, he has the conviction that the party will dislodge the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the elections.
Olatunji said, “I have been an active participant in the APC as an emerging leader, but recent developments have made it increasingly difficult for me to pursue my aspirations within the party.
“I am not joining the ADP merely to participate, but with a clear determination to win. Together with other candidates, we are committed to forming a government that truly reflects the aspirations of the people of Oyo State”.
