The Chief of Air Staff (CAS) of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has visited the two fighter pilots who successfully ejected from a NAF aircraft following an emergency situation in Niger State.
According to NAF authorities, the incident occurred during a routine operation when the aircraft experienced a sudden technical malfunction. The pilots executed emergency procedures and safely ejected, after which they were promptly rescued by a joint search-and-rescue team.
During his visit, Air Marshal Abubakar praised the pilots for their professionalism, courage, and strict adherence to safety protocols, noting that their actions prevented what could have been a major tragedy. He expressed satisfaction with their stable medical condition and commended the medical team for providing swift attention.
The Air Chief reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to maintaining the highest operational and safety standards across all units. He also emphasized that an investigative panel has been set up to determine the exact cause of the aircraft malfunction in line with global aviation practices.
Air Marshal Abubakar assured Nigerians that the NAF remains dedicated to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and will continue to support its personnel with the necessary resources to carry out their duties effectively.
