Manchester United owners set the price at which they would sell the club

The Super League has been halted and fans across England have made their feelings about the failed project very clear, so much so that the owners of Manchester United have reportedly established a price at which they would sell the club.

The Glazers have been in charge at Manchester United for 16 years, yet they could walk away if offered four billion pounds, or 4.6bn euros.

That’s according to The Irish Mirror, who have revealed that city investors believe a bid in that region could convince the family to sell.

The Super League saga has shaken up the hierarchy at Old Trafford and Joel Glazerapologised to fans on Wednesday, whileEd Woodward has announced he’ll leave his role as executive vice-chairman at the end of the year.

Woodward had been in charge since 2013, when he replaced David Gill, and there have been various setbacks along the way as the club struggled in the post-Alex Ferguson era.

Extra security following the fan protests

Supporters are not happy, having made their feelings very clear this week.

After fans responded to the Super League plans by breaking into the club’s training ground, The Daily Mail have reported that some players were concerned.

As such, the club have had to add extra security to the centre to ensure there isn’t another breach.

The Athletic have reported that Ole Gunnar SolskjaerMichael Carrick, Darren Fletcher and Nemanja Matic spoke to fans on Thursday to try to ease the tension.

It has, therefore, been a very dramatic week at Manchester United and the report from The Irish Mirror about the Glazers‘ potential asking price will only create more headlines.

On the pitch, meanwhile, Manchester United take on Leeds United in the Premier League this Sunday and then have a Europa League semi-final against Roma in midweek.
