Ihe, Awgu LGA (Enugu State) — January 18, 2026 — Stakeholders of Ihe Ward in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State have formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the successful flag-off of the party’s Digital Membership E-Registration Exercise in the ward.
The event, held at the popular OkukuIzu Civic Centre, Ihe, attracted a large and enthusiastic turnout of party members and stakeholders who gathered in solidarity to reaffirm their support for the Tinubu–Mbah administration and the APC.
Addressing the gathering, the APC Caretaker Chairman of Ihe Ward, Hon. Cajethan Okoye, highlighted the impressive level of participation recorded so far, describing the response of residents as highly encouraging. He expressed optimism that Ihe Ward would emerge as one of the highest-performing wards in the registration exercise across Awgu Local Government Area.
In his remarks, the Administrator of Mbanabor North Development Centre, Hon. Solomon Egbo, recalled his earlier call on residents to follow Governor Mbah wherever he politically aligns, citing the governor’s outstanding performance and people-centered leadership. He described Governor Mbah as the best-performing governor in the state’s history within less than three years in office and urged the people to come out en masse and register with the APC.
Also speaking, a respected community leader, High Chief Godwin Okolo (Ozuome na Ihe), praised Governor Mbah’s leadership and highlighted the numerous achievements recorded by the administration within a short period. He assured that Ihe Ward would deliver massive support for President Tinubu, Governor Mbah, and the APC in the 2027 general elections.
High Chief Okolo emphasized that the presence of the APC has united stakeholders within the ward, stressing that unity remains the foundation for sustainable political success and community development. He expressed confidence that Ihe Ward possesses the capacity to produce outstanding results both in the ongoing registration exercise and in future elections, declaring that the APC has come to stay.
He also publicly endorsed the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, for a second term, describing him as a performing and people-oriented leader who deserves continuity. In a gesture of goodwill, High Chief Okolo supported party members with ₦200,000 to assist with transportation after the event.
In his address, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, commended Governor Mbah’s leadership and achievements across all sectors, expressing admiration for the governor’s bold infrastructural development drive and investor-friendly policies that have repositioned Enugu State as a destination for investment.
Hon. Okolo also applauded President Tinubu’s leadership, noting that Nigeria is gradually witnessing economic recovery and renewed confidence. He urged stakeholders and party members in Ihe Ward to remain united, sustain their support, and actively participate in the ongoing APC registration exercise in solidarity with the governor and the party.
Among the stakeholders present at the event were High Chief Anthony Onuigbo; Hon. Emeka Francis Udeh; Councillor representing Ihe Ward, Hon. Aganigbo Gabriel Ikechukwu; Special Personal Assistant on WASH to the Awgu Chairman, among many other party leaders and supporters.
The APC Digital Membership E-Registration Exercise forms part of the party’s strategy to strengthen its grassroots base, deepen internal democracy, and enhance electoral preparedness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
