Obeagu, Awgu LGA (Enugu State) — Stakeholders and party members of Obeagu Ward in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State have intensified the All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic membership registration drive, reaffirming their strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The flag-off ceremony, which witnessed massive turnout, was held at the popular Obodo Agwu Square (popularly known as “Mmadu Ako”), where party faithful gathered in large numbers to demonstrate solidarity with the Tinubu–Mbah administration and endorse the APC as their political rallying point for the forthcoming elections.
Addressing party members during the opening session, the APC Caretaker Chairman of Obeagu Ward, Hon. Sunday Uzochukwu, urged members to take the ongoing digital registration exercise seriously and adopt a house-to-house mobilization strategy to ensure comprehensive participation across the ward.
In her remarks, the Leader of the Awgu Local Government Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Rose Udeh, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, Governor Mbah, the Executive Chairman of Awgu LGA, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, and the APC for the developmental strides recorded so far. He further assured that Obeagu Ward would intensify efforts to significantly increase its registration figures and pledged total support and solidarity to the administration of Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, commending his inclusive leadership style and commitment to grassroots development.
In his address, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, commended Governor Mbah’s leadership and achievements across critical sectors, expressing admiration for the governor’s bold infrastructural development drive and investor-friendly policies that have repositioned Enugu State as a prime destination for investment.
Hon. Okolo also applauded President Tinubu’s leadership, noting that Nigeria is gradually witnessing economic recovery and renewed confidence. He urged stakeholders and party members in Obeagu Ward to remain united, sustain their support, and actively participate in the ongoing APC registration exercise in solidarity with the governor and the party.
The council chairman further announced the distribution of participation forms to women groups across Awgu Local Government Area as part of efforts to strengthen women’s inclusion, empowerment, and direct involvement in governance. He explained that the initiative aligns with Governor Mbah’s vision of bringing leadership closer to the people through inclusion, empowerment, and grassroots engagement.
Also present at the event were notable community and party leaders, including the President General of Obeagu Town Union (OTU), Mr. Orji Anthony Uzodimma; the Awgu Local Government Supervisor for Agriculture, Sir Godwin Egungwu, alongside several other stakeholders, party executives, women leaders, youths, and supporters who lent their voices and presence to the successful ceremony.
The APC digital membership registration exercise forms part of the party’s broader strategy to deepen internal democracy, strengthen grassroots structures, and enhance electoral readiness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
