Four Siblings in Police Custody Over Alleged Guard Murder in Bauchi State

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four siblings over their alleged involvement in the killing of a private security guard during an attack on a farm located in Jama’are Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, explained that the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, March 15, 2026. Hunters had earlier alerted authorities about an assault on three private guards working at a farm owned by Idris Waziri Kwamawa in the area.

Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer reportedly led a patrol team to the location. At the scene, one of the guards, Bello Bura, aged 40, was discovered dead. Two others — Sani Hussaini, 32, and Gidado Mohammed, also 32, both from Jadauvi village in Gamawa Local Government Area — were found injured.

According to the police, the victims were taken to a general hospital where a doctor confirmed the death of Bello Bura, while the injured guards are currently undergoing treatment. The body of the deceased has since been handed over to his family for Islamic burial rites.

Police authorities said six individuals were initially taken into custody in connection with the incident. However, four of them, who are siblings, remain detained over allegations of culpable homicide.

The suspects in custody were identified as Chidawa Ahmadu, 25; Adamu Ahmadu, 20; Usman Ahmadu, 15; and Yusuf Ahmadu, 22. They are all residents of Bediri village in Jama’are Local Government Area.

The statement also noted that items recovered from the suspects include three cutlasses, two sticks, and a torchlight.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, advised residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the command’s control room.
