EFCC Arrests Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja Hotel Raid

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 74 suspected internet fraudsters in the Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The suspects were apprehended on Monday, June 30, at Joyous Hotel, following credible intelligence linking them to various cybercrime activities.

According to a statement released by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the raid was conducted after weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering. During the operation, operatives recovered 86 mobile phones, three motorcycles, and a rifle pistol.

  • “They were arrested on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Joyous Hotel, Nyanya in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences,” the statement read.

Oyewale further noted that the suspects are currently undergoing investigation and will be arraigned in court upon its conclusion.

The EFCC reiterated its commitment to clamping down on cybercrime and warned that it will continue to pursue individuals and syndicates engaged in fraudulent online activities.
