Human rights lawyer and political activist, Deji Adeyanju, has stirred controversy after alleging that four ministers in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet are “ghosts” who are not known to Nigerians.
Adeyanju, in a Facebook post on Tuesday, listed the ministers as:
Sa’idu Alkali, Minister of Transportation
Ibrahim Gaidam, Minister of Police Affairs
Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy
Gboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy
The outspoken critic of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government did not provide details to support his claim but implied that the ministers had little or no public presence.
His post, however, drew swift reactions from social media users, many of whom defended some of the officials.
@Afolabi Sikiru Olayinka commented: “Oyetola is not a noisy man. He has been doing his job effectively.”
Similarly, @Chijioke Godswill Ndukwe wrote: “Bosun Tijani isn’t part of them. He is one of the smartest and hardworking guys.”
Another user, @Abdulganity Sahid Olaide Ezra, added: “The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy is performing. He may not be known to you because he’s not giving you blue envelope.”
Adeyanju, who has remained a fierce critic of successive governments, has previously accused the Tinubu administration of failing to live up to campaign promises
