BREAKING: Tompolo Under EFCC Scrutiny Over Viral Naira Abuse Video

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed that Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, will be questioned in connection with a viral video allegedly showing him involved in the abuse of the naira.

The video, which surfaced on social media platform X, sparked widespread outrage after it appeared to capture moments from Tompolo’s 54th birthday celebration in April. In the clip, the former militant leader is seen dancing while a man sprays N1,000 notes in a lavish display.

The footage triggered a wave of reactions from Nigerians, many of whom demanded that the EFCC apply the law equally and take action against Tompolo, just as it has done in other recent cases of naira abuse.

In response to the public outcry, the EFCC on Monday addressed the issue via its official X handle, declaring: “Nobody is above the law. Tompolo will have questions to answer!”

The Commission’s statement marks the first official comment on the incident and signals a potential investigation into the matter.
