Premier League champions Arsenal are reportedly considering a surprise move for Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior if he fails to agree to a new contract with the Spanish giants.
According to The Athletic, the Gunners’ interest is still at an early stage, with no guarantee that the move will progress into a formal transfer.
There have been no club-to-club negotiations between Arsenal and Real Madrid, but the proposed move is said to have the backing of key decision-makers at the North London club.
Vinicius Jr has entered the final 12 months of his contract after spending eight seasons at Real Madrid.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen to strengthen his options on the left wing ahead of the new season.
