ABUJA COUNCIL NAMES STREET AFTER AFE BABALOLA

The Abuja Municipal Area Council on Saturday named a street in the Apo District of the Federal Capital Territory after the founder of Afe Babalola University, Chief Afe Babalola.

The council’s Director of Operations, Street Naming Project, Mr Peter Ijwo, said the street was named after the Senior Advocate of Nigeria in appreciation of his contributions to the development of the legal profession and the country.

A statement by Head, Corporate Affairs, ABUAD, Tunde Olofintila, on Sunday read partly, “The street is situated off Gashara Crescent, Apo Resettlement in Apo District of Abuja. The recently tarred street comprises of 26 plots including four yet to be developed ones.

 “The street is named after the elder statesman and philanthropist in appreciation of his numerous contributions to the development of the country.”

The statement added that the ABUAD founder was represented at the event by the Head of Abuja Chambers of Afe Babalola Chambers and Co., Kehindede Ogunwimiju, SAN.
