A Beacon of Love and Service Takes His Final Bow: Funeral Arrangements for Late Chief Francis Sunday Agu (Agu Igugu)

With hearts heavy yet full of gratitude to Almighty God for a life well spent, the Agu family announces the peaceful transition to eternal glory of their beloved patriarch, Late Chief Francis Sunday Agu (Agu Igugu), who passed on at the age of 74.

A man of deep faith, community spirit, and boundless love, Chief Agu devoted his life to uplifting others — embodying integrity, humility, and service. His footsteps of kindness have left indelible marks on the hearts of family, friends, and the people of Enugu State.

Burial Arrangements

  • Friday, 22nd August 2025 – 5:00 pm: Vigil Mass at Chief Francis Agu’s compound, Umuokere Igugu, Udenu LGA.
  • Saturday, 23rd August 2025 – 6:00 am: Body departs Eastern Nigeria Medical Center for his country home, Umuokere Village, Igugu.
  • 8:30 am: Lying-in-State at his residence.
  • 11:00 am: Requiem Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Igugu.
  • Interment: Immediately after Mass at his family compound.
  • 1:30 pm: Reception at Technical College, Igugu.
  • Sunday, 24th August 2025: Thanksgiving Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Igugu.

The family invites all relatives, friends, associates, and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the life and legacy of this remarkable leader, husband, father, brother, and friend.

May his gentle soul find eternal rest in the loving embrace of our Lord. Amen.
