A 60-year-old man has died after suffering a medical emergency while staying with a 20-year-old woman at a hotel in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 21, according to the Jigawa State Police Command, which has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the command said the deceased had checked into the hotel with the young woman before requesting a meal. Shortly afterward, he reportedly began gasping for air.

Police officers from the Yalwawa Division responded to a distress call and rushed the man to the General Hospital, Dutse, where medical personnel confirmed him dead.

Detectives who examined the hotel room recovered food items, drinks, a suspected sexual enhancement substance, and other personal belongings, which have been taken for further investigation.

The deceased’s body was released to his family for burial at their request, while the 20-year-old woman is cooperating with investigators by providing information that may assist the ongoing probe.
