Zulum donates 300 bicycles to ease students’ transportation

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has distributed over 300 bicycles to students who used to trek from neighboring villages to schools in the state.

The governor made the donation during his tour of southern senatorial district of the state where 22 projects were slated for inauguration.

The governor, who inaugurated some projects on Tuesday and Wednesday, also inaugurated a skill acquisition centre and a secondary school in the Kwaya Kusar Local Government Area on Thursday.

During the inauguration, Zulum announced support to about 200 beneficiaries

He said, “New teachers should be recruited from qualified residents of Yimir Lang community.

He also distributed over 300 bicycles to students who used to trek from neighboring villages to schools “to ease their movement.”

At Ganjiwa town also in Kwaya kusar, Zulum directed the construction of a new secondary school in the year 2022.

The  state Commissioner of Education, Lawan Abba Walkibe, said, “In the last two years, the Zulum administration has constructed 21 mega schools of 60, 30 and 20 classrooms and has constructed over 432 classrooms in 48 schools and completely rehabilitated 39 schools.”
