Zelensky accuses Russia of sharing intelligence with Iran

Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky has alleged that Russia is providing intelligence support to Iran to sustain and escalate tensions in the Middle East.

In a Monday night address, Zelensky, citing Ukraine’s military intelligence agency, said there were indications that Moscow continues to assist Iranian authorities with intelligence-related backing, although he did not provide further details.

He also revealed that he received additional briefings from Ukraine’s domestic security service on the situation.

Zelensky warned against allowing Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine to benefit from shifting global geopolitical dynamics and fluctuations in oil prices, stressing the broader international implications of the conflict.

He commended Ukrainian forces for the precision of recent strikes on Russian oil infrastructure, describing it as a key source of funding for Moscow’s war effort.

The Ukrainian leader also cautioned that Russia may be preparing a major attack, citing intelligence reports, as Ukraine continues to defend itself against the full-scale invasion launched in February 2022.
