Nollywood actor Yul Edochie stirred controversy on social media Monday afternoon after unveiling a new poster in which he boldly described himself as a “Prophet/Traditionalist.”
In the post, Edochie declared that Igbo ancestors are the true guiding angels of the people and encouraged Igbos to “activate these spirits” to help them overcome life’s battles.
“The ancestors in Igbo land are our guiding angels,” he wrote. “Activate them and watch them fight your battles.”
His post has triggered mixed reactions online, with some praising his embrace of traditional spirituality, while others questioned the blending of prophetic identity with ancestral worship.
This is not the first time the actor has made headlines for his spiritual declarations or unconventional public statements, but the Prophet/Traditionalist label marks a significant shift in his public persona.
