YouTube Star P2istheName’s cause of death revealed after being found in mail room at 26

The cause of death for popular YouTube content creator P2istheName has been confirmed nearly three months after he was found unresponsive in the mail room of his Los Angeles apartment building. He was 26.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office announced Tuesday that the YouTuber, whose real name was Philip Enewally, died of natural causes on March 14.

The official cause of death was listed as “sudden cardiac dysfunction due to solitary papillary muscle hypertrophy,” a rare condition classified as a subtype of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy — a known risk factor for sudden and fatal cardiac events.

Enewally collapsed in the mail room and was discovered shortly afterward. Despite attempts by paramedics to revive him, he was pronounced dead at 3:11 p.m. local time.

Authorities have not confirmed whether substances such as drugs or alcohol played any role in his passing. A full autopsy report will be released at a later date.

P2istheName was widely recognized for his video game walkthroughs, particularly for titles like Fortnite and NBA 2K. He developed a loyal following with his detailed gameplay commentary and creative storytelling.

Following news of his death, fellow YouTuber COLETHEMAN — who has nearly 1 million subscribers — shared a heartfelt tribute on social media.

“I’m honestly at a loss for words,” he wrote. “He was always so kind to me and gave me so much content creation advice. May he rest in peace. This breaks my heart.”

In addition to his YouTube success, Enewally had recently launched a clothing brand called DontMindUs. In his final months, he shared glimpses of his life as he prepared to relocate from Los Angeles to Atlanta, often seen packing clothing orders into his Cybertruck.

His final video, titled “A regular night with my rich ‘psychotic’ friends,” was uploaded on February 24.

Despite his accomplishments, Enewally had expressed personal struggles in his final months, revealing feelings of being “lost” and concerns about declining viewership. Once known for pulling in millions of views, his recent videos averaged between 20,000 and 60,000 views — a noticeable drop that reportedly weighed heavily on him.
