Prominent media figure Yeni Kuti got into a heated exchange with Segun Sowunmi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, following his recent visit to President Bola Tinubu.
Sowunmi, who served as the spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 presidential election and is known for his outspoken criticism of Tinubu, paid the president a visit at his Lagos residence over the weekend. The visit stirred controversy online, with many questioning his intentions.
During Tuesday’s episode of TVC’s Your View, Sowunmi appeared as a guest and was asked by co-host Yeni Kuti if he was planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kuti remarked, “You’ve heavily criticized the president in the past, but now your stance seems different. So when are you crossing over to the APC?”
Irritated by the question, Sowunmi responded, “I can’t even see who is asking these questions. I didn’t come here for you to be cheeky with me—cut that out.”
Kuti fired back, “I can’t be cheeky with you—I’m probably older than you.”
Realizing the tension, Sowunmi quickly attempted to calm things down, saying, “Oh sister! My Aunty! I take that back. Please don’t be upset.”
Unmoved, the 64-year-old Kuti clapped back: “I’m not your aunty.”
The fiery moment has since gained attention online. Watch the video below.
