Women Pillars of Humanity: Awgu Chair Person Chioma Vivian Okolo Celebrates Strength, Resilience of Women on International Women’s Day*

 

AWGU, ENUGU STATE — The Chair Person of Awgu Local Government Area, Mrs. Chioma Vivian Okolo, has joined millions around the world to celebrate women on International Women’s Day, describing them as the true pillars of humanity and the nurturing force behind every thriving society.

In a goodwill message issued to commemorate the occasion, the Awgu Chair person paid tribute to the courage, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women in shaping families, communities, and nations.

Mrs. Okolo noted that women occupy a unique and indispensable position in society as caregivers, leaders, innovators, and agents of positive transformation.

The message, which was conveyed through the Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity to the Awgu Council Chairman, Tochukwu Chukwu, emphasized that women remain the backbone of societal development and the driving force behind sustainable progress.

According to her, from nurturing homes to contributing significantly in governance, business, education, and community development, women continue to demonstrate remarkable strength, wisdom, and commitment that inspire hope for a better future.

“Women are the heartbeat of every community. Their resilience, compassion, and determination continue to shape the moral and social fabric of our society,” she stated.

Mrs. Okolo also commended the Wife of the Governor of Enugu State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, for her numerous programs and initiatives aimed at promoting women’s inclusion, empowerment, and development across the state. She praised the First Lady’s unwavering commitment to uplifting women through impactful activities and advocacy that continue to create opportunities for women to actively participate in leadership, economic advancement, and community development.

She further reaffirmed her commitment to supporting initiatives that uplift women, promote their welfare, and encourage their participation in community development within Awgu Local Government Area.

The Awgu Chair Person urged women to remain steadfast, confident, and united in their pursuit of progress, while continuing to play their vital roles in nurturing families and building stronger communities.

Mrs. Okolo concluded by celebrating the achievements and sacrifices of women in Awgu and beyond, noting that their contributions remain essential to building a more prosperous and harmonious society.

“Today, we celebrate the grace, strength, and extraordinary impact of women whose dedication continues to inspire growth, unity, and development in our communities,” she said.
