Malawi head coach, Lovemore Fazili, has unveiled a 32-player provisional squad ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The Scorchers are expected to begin their training camp on Sunday at the Mpira Village in Blantyre as preparations intensify for the continental tournament.
Fazili retained the core of the squad that has represented Malawi in international competitions throughout the year, reflecting confidence in the team’s consistency and experience.
Malawi will be making their maiden appearance at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after securing qualification for the tournament.
Drawn in Group C, the Scorchers will face defending champions Nigeria, Zambia and Egypt in what is widely regarded as one of the competition’s toughest groups.
Malawi will kick off their WAFCON campaign against the Super Falcons of Nigeria at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat on Monday, July 28, before taking on Zambia and Egypt in their remaining group matches.
