VeryDarkMan Stages Protest Outside Wike’s Residence Over Teachers’ Strike

Popular social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), staged an unusual protest on Monday outside the residence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in Abuja.

The protest comes in response to Wike’s recent announcement to withhold 10 percent of the statutory allocation to FCT area councils. The decision was reportedly due to the councils’ failure to implement the new minimum wage for primary school teachers — a key factor fueling the ongoing teachers’ strike.

As part of the protest, VDM gathered a group of schoolchildren dressed in uniforms and conducted an impromptu “class” at the minister’s gate, teaching them the alphabet in a satirical manner.

> “S for Suegbe, T for Tinubu, W for Wike,” he chanted, as the children echoed his words.

VDM declared that Wike’s residence gate would now serve as the pupils’ new classroom, drawing attention to the plight of out-of-school children amid the strike.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official response from the FCT Minister or his office regarding the protest.
