The management of the University of Abuja has appealed to members of the public for help in locating a missing 100-level student, Sadiya Usman.

Usman, a student of the Department of Accounting with matriculation number 25/207ACC/1513, was declared missing after she left her residence at Kontagora Estate, Gwagwalada, Abuja, around 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2026.

In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Acting Director of Information and University Relations, Dr. Habib Yakoob, the institution disclosed that a report from her guardian indicated that all attempts to contact her have failed, as her phone line remains unreachable and her whereabouts are unknown.

The University stated that it has activated its internal safety procedures and is collaborating with relevant security agencies to ensure swift action is taken to locate the student.

The institution urged anyone with useful information about Sadiya Usman’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the University’s Directorate of Safety.

For urgent information, the public can call:

The University community expressed deep concern over the incident and appealed for prompt information that could aid in her safe return, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and security of all students.
