Goshen Estate Residents Unite for End-of-Year Bash, Leadership Excellence and Community Development
Residents of Goshen Estate Premier Layout, Enugu, on December 19, 2025, gathered in an atmosphere of unity, gratitude, and neighbourly harmony to celebrate their end-of-year party and officially launch a multi-million-naira recreation centre project.
The well-attended event underscored the estate’s strong leadership, growing infrastructural development, and deep sense of community spirit. With lively entertainment, a rich variety of local delicacies, and warm interactions among residents and guests, the celebration provided an opportunity to reflect on the year’s achievements while strengthening social bonds within the estate.
Speaking to UGAMATV, the Chairman of the Goshen Estate Residents Association, Chief Sir Raph Onovo, said the event was organised to promote social interaction among residents, reinforce unity, and give thanks to God for a fruitful year.
Describing Goshen Estate as peaceful, secure, and well-organised, Chief Onovo noted that residents are loving, generous, and committed to harmonious coexistence. He disclosed that since the inception of the current administration, the estate has witnessed remarkable progress in unity, infrastructure, security, and cooperation. He also appealed to the Enugu State Government for assistance with road infrastructure and other critical social amenities to further enhance living conditions in the estate.
Also speaking at the event, His Excellency Ozo Chief Emma Ugwu, representing Ohaneze Ndigbo, expressed delight over the level of unity displayed by residents and commended them for their peaceful and harmonious lifestyle, urging them to sustain the spirit of togetherness.
Other speakers, including Rev. Canon Joel Ugwuayi, Chief Akabueze, Engr. Onyekachi, and Engr. Emmanuel Okechukwu, all residents of the estate, described life in Goshen Estate as generally peaceful, secure, and well-coordinated.
In his address to guests, Chief Onovo warmly welcomed attendees and described Goshen Estate as a place of blessing and prosperity, highlighting its serene, well-structured environment which residents proudly call home. According to him, the gathering also served as a moment to reflect on challenges faced, milestones achieved, and future prospects, while celebrating the estate’s collective journey as one united community.
“Together, we have successfully improved our security architecture, strengthened our social bonds, and fostered a strong ‘know-your-neighbour’ culture. This has positioned Goshen Estate not only as a leading lifestyle city but also as a safe and pleasurable enclave one can truly call home,” he said. He added that the management committee is also committed to enhancing communal green spaces through planned tree- and flower-planting initiatives.
A major highlight of the event was the official launch of the estate’s ₦30.5 million recreation centre project, which received overwhelming support from residents, invited guests, and government officials.
In a goodwill message, the Enugu State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Barr. Lloyd Ikechukwu Ekweremmadu, commended the estate management and the Enugu State Government for their developmental efforts, pledging to convey his support for the recreation centre project to the estate leadership.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, praised the residents’ association for its outstanding leadership and commitment to estate development, donating ₦2 million in support of the recreation centre project.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of special awards of recognition to individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the estate. Honourees included the estate developer and Chairman of Copen Group, Rev. Surveyor Ugochukwu Chime, Chief Emeka Anthony Chinweokwu, Hon. Orlando Okechukwu Nweze, and Chief Joshua Ejike Ene.
More than an end-of-year celebration, the event stood as a powerful demonstration of collective effort, responsible leadership, and shared vision. As festivities drew to a close, residents expressed pride in their community and optimism for an even more prosperous and united year ahead.
