The Deputy Minority leader, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu has referred to a group of purposeful women from his constituency , as formidable, strong and unstoppable.

He made this statement in a courtesy visit by a Certain women group, called, Global Ugwueme women initiative, (GUWI), from Ugwueme town in Awgu local government area of Enugu state.

The women had visited the Deputy Minority Leader, in his Ugbonabo country home to appreciate him for his quality Representation and for attracting the construction of a road in their Town.

Prior to this incidence, the GUWI women, out of their quest for a developed town, contributed stipends amongst themselves, and made an attempt to make their road less horrid and relatively accessible.

UGAMATV, learnt via an interview with the group leader, Dr. Barr. Oby Offor, that Every road linking to Ugwueme was formerly in a desolated state, she said, for one to access Ugwueme, they had to go through Isuochi, which was a longer and more expensive route.

As such, life at Ugwueme was harder that it ought to be, lives were lost severally, courtesy of the bad road, sick persons and pregnant women made extra efforts to access basic medical care at the hospitals, Events such as Traditional weddings, Funerals were scheduled with skeptical mindset, as the state of the road reduced guest attendance and possible support. 

The bad roads, also inhibited Economic growth as the Agro-based community, could not have access to farms and markets, it also detered their patrons from visiting the local markets located in Ugwueme.

Owing to the mishaps attached to horridity of the road, the GUWI women, began to make deliberate efforts to put out their plight.

With the little money gathered from the constant contribution of stipends, they began to hire the services of Excavators, buldozzers, graders and a road maintenance team.

However, it was at this point that this plan was enhanced, as soon as an intervention came from the Federal government through Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu.

According to the women, their town is a whole lot better with the road constructio, as easy access to farms and markets has been brought to the Agrarian Locals, pregnant and sick persons can easily access the hospital,  Although, they prayed for further intervention in their Electric sector.

It was in his speech of acceptance, that the lawmaker, identified these United women as Formidable, strong willed and unstoppable.

He appreciated their strength and Unity, stating that, such a driving force will only continue to attract great things to them.

He pledged allegiance to their noble cause, encouraging them to continue setting the pace for other communities to emulate.

As for their prayer of constant intervention, He said that he will continually support their welfare and that of every community in his constituency.
