Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has defended the ongoing Coastal Highway project, describing critics of the initiative as individuals driven by envy and unwilling to acknowledge President Bola Tinubu’s vision and determination.
Speaking in Lagos, Umahi argued that the project is already benefiting Nigerians, noting that motorists using completed sections of the highway have experienced improved traffic flow and are appreciating its impact.
He dismissed claims linking various challenges to the project, insisting that such criticisms are unfounded. According to the minister, many of those opposing the highway never believed that President Tinubu had the courage and foresight to execute a project of such scale.
Umahi maintained that the Coastal Highway is a transformative infrastructure project that will deliver long-term economic and transportation benefits, urging Nigerians to judge it by its positive impact rather than political criticism
