Two soldiers, many terrorists killed as troops battle Boko Haram in Borno

Two Nigerian Army personnel and scores of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have been killed in Borno.

Troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce battle at the Bula, Yobe axis of Banki in Bama Local Government Area.

An intelligence officer told PRNigeria that the enemies had attempted to attack a military formation.

The officers and men of 21 Armoured Brigade Bama, under Operation Hadin Kai, exchanged fire with the adversaries for two hours.

The terrorists based in Sambisa forest stormed their target from different directions with about six gun trucks.

“The terrorists withdrew in disarray with a large number of them suffering fatal injuries, leaving behind several weapons and ammunition including anti-aircraft gun barrel, AK 47 rifles.

“Unfortunately, we lost two gallant military personnel while pursuing the fleeing remnants of the terrorists after the encounter,” the source said.
